Experience Cinemalaya 2009 on YouTube

Experience hardcore the Philippine indie film world at its finest. Watch the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival at the Cutural Center of the Philippines on July 17-26, 2009. This will be Cinemalaya's 5th year.

I was able to catch a glimpse of what's in store for Cinemalaya fans and followers alike. Below are the three Cinemalaya Cinco short films made to promote this year's festival.

Saan Nagtatago ang CCP? (Where is CCP?)

Candelabra (The Candle Holder)

Ang Kapatid Ko'ng Nagpupumilit Makita Si Ricky Davao (My Sister Wants To See Ricky Davao)

I am also taking the opportunity to promote "Dinig Sana Kita" by Mike Sandejas. He made last year's best film "Tulad Ng Dati" which stars the phenomenal Pinoy-Rock Band "The Dawn"

Mike Sandejas' latest festival entry is an interesting one. I really want to see this flick on July - my sister and I had a chance to be a part of this film and the experience while shooting with the deaf people was really a spine-chilling experience. Why? Because everything felt so real during the shoot. Breaking barriers between hearing and non-hearing people is a challenging task.

Taken from Mike Sandejas' YouTube account:

"Dinig Sana Kita" (If I Knew What You Said)

A love story between a Deaf boy who loves to dance and a rocker girl who abuses her hearing. Crossing paths in a Baguio camp that mixes Deaf and hearing kids, the two find that they have a lot in common including a passion for music.
