Really now?

Watch the video of Miss Janina San Miguel, Philippines' candidate to the 2008 Miss World pageant. Watch out Melanie Marquez:

The night I watched this I was really sleepy from updating my blog. Upon hearing her answer and the moment she said her Gloria-inspired "I'm so sorry" excuse, I cringed to death. It made me eat a piece of brownie to regain lost sugar in my brain.

Host: Janina, how are you?
Janina San Miguel: I'm fine.
Host: Alright, so you won two of the major awards - Best in Long Gown, Best in Swimsuit, do you feel any pressure right now?
Janina San Miguel: No, I don't feel any pressure right now.
Host: Confident! Alright! Please choose a name of the judge.
Host: We have Miss Vivienne Tan.
Judge: Good Evening.
Janina San Miguel: Good Evening.
Judge: The question is, what role did your family play to you as candidate to Binibining Pilipinas?
Janina San Miguel: "Well, my family's role for me is so important because there was the wa- they're, they was the one who's... very... Hahahaha... Oh I'm so sorry, Ahhmm... My pamily... My family... Oh my god... I'm... Ok, I'm so sorry... I... I told you that I'm so confident... Eto, Ahhmm, Wait... Hahahaha, Ahmmm, Sorry guys because this was really my first pageant ever because I'm only 17 years old and ahahaha I, I did not expect that I came from, I came from one of the top 10. Hmmm, so... but I said that my family is the most important persons in my life. Thank you."

Hope your beauty will help you take home the crown in Miss World 2008. You made me nuts in a beautiful way. Go girl!

@coldman - couldn't agree more, pero sana maisip rin nila na beauty can be fabricated in a short span of time. brains, ewan ko na lang..medyo matagal yun!

@dak - ewan ko ba. the judges this year are the worst so far.

@mrs j and devilicious - kung tinagalog na lang nila malamang mas natuwa pa ang viewers! she should have realize at that disastrous moment that most of her viewers are the very same people who watch "marimar" - where the actress playing the role happens to be one of the judge!

@joyjoy - you know what - WE HAVE THE SAME THOUGHTS when it was happening live on tv. i guess crowns are more meaningful to most people these days. sigh*

io felt really really dismayed when i heard her answer this. it was really disturbing, i think if she was able to answer it in filipino it should have been way better!

@socialcritic - i could've been a masscomm student myself. geez..kakahiya siya, ganito na pala mga freshies sa course na ito.

@wanderingcommuter - if you remove the fillers in her answer, it does not answer the question at all. nag tagalog na nga lang sana siya :-)

guys - ako si nadriamez - i just changed my profile name to "James"
